I haven’t spoken to you in months. This was not something difficult. It did not take effort. My heart hasn’t ached, ordinary things have not reminded me of you, but there is something about a doctors office that brings it all back. White bright rooms, tacky motivational art, dog eared magazines. This today, was always plan B, but plan As fail.
The air is lighter but I can feel the heaviness of my heart make it harder to breath. The thought to three years ago, today I am better. Tomorrow I will be much better. Me without you, is the best thing that has ever happened to me. But no one has compared to you, and I am sure it is the same with you. I am not bitter, and I am not one to be sweet, but I wish you the best. Stay golden.
February is approaching and I am willing to tackle it. Lucky for me, it’s the shortest month of the year.
